Concrete floor preparation - Gritblasting has new mobile unit

Updated: Jan 2, 2021

With the increase in concrete floor preparation work, Grit Blasting UK today took delivery of its new UK-wide lorry, with its new distinctive yellow and blue livery.

Over the past few years, the demand for specialist concrete floor preparation work has increased substantially. This means investment in the latest equipment, and the need to transport kit and the team to sites across the country.

With on-board generators as well as the diamond grinding equipment, the mobile unit can reach all corners of the UK and be self-sufficient in delivery of it concrete floor preparation work.

Grit Blasting UK is known for its continuous investment in equipment – always ensuring the highest quality work. This is no exception.

The demand for floor preparation is growing. From factory floors to out-of-town warehouses, hospitals and car parks – Grit Blasting undertakes preparation projects which are hundreds of square metres in size. Specialist skills and equipment ensure the effective removal of contaminants, leaving the substrate prepped for further coating. Part of the Grit Blasting UK service is surface re-coating, offering an end-to-end process.

The lorry’s first assignment marks the beginning of the new chapter in Grit Blasting’s rich history. From humble beginnings blasting domestic and industrial equipment to today’s major construction, engineering and renovation work. The floor preparation work complements the major projects we do such as blasting and painting steel bridges, concrete works, factory floors, silos, barges and much more.

Kierien Barnes, Director of the UK’s leading surface preparation company commented:

“We invest continuously in Grit Blasting UK – both in equipment and in our people. Our floor preparation work is in demand, and we are delighted to be able to invest in the next step – our concrete floor preparation work. Our clients can be assured of high quality, reliable surface preparation and coatings.”
